In my opinion, Bangkok has one of the most colourful dessert we can find along the street, given the choice just from the Thai alone, there are zillion of choices to chose from. But I would say their assorted mixed topping shaved ice dessert is something that every visitor should try, and here is one such dessert stall that I came across by chance has my thumbs up.
Located just outside the China town area and within walking distance of MRT Hua Lamphong , and they open for business only in the evening with really one kind of make shift stall. They basically use a few tables, lay them out with a huge piece of plastics table cloth as their stall and display an assortment of vivid topping for choosing. A bowl of shaved ice dessert is make up of an assortment of topping of you liking, shaved ice ball and some coconut milk or syrup, the assortment of topping have sliced lotus, corn, grass jelly, glass ball jelly, yam cube, ginkgo nut, red bean, attap chee (nipa palm), taro, water chestnut, pandan rice flour jelly, barley etc.
To order your bowl of assortment topping shaved ice dessert, all you need to do is to point at any topping of your liking and the staff will scope their up to put in your bowl. Once finished choosing, they will scope up some fine crushed shaved ice mold into a ball and put it onto your bowl of assortment topping. As they do not have any table and only chair, so you have to hold the bowl of dessert to eat it on a chair under the stars, or go to a bus stop which just only a few step away from the stall if you prefer to dine under a roof.
Their assortment of topping is pretty good in quality as they are chewy, crunchy, springy and fresh. If you doesn’t want to get crashed into huge crowd in China Town’s dessert stall, go to this stall for an alternative delicious bowl of shaved ice dessert after your evening visit in China Town.
