Spicy kicking pork noodle (Bangkok)

Bangkok street food is really full of surprise, this humble noodle soup just knock me off my chair.

The shop is very near BTS Saphan Khwai and has pretty simple interior decoration, but they have very pretty pretty retro floor tiles and I like them very much as my house has the same floor tiles too. They don’t have much seating as their cooking area take up about 1/3 of the shop space. Try not to sit near the cooking area if you dislike heat wave after heat wave coming at you.

For those who can read Chinese, it is good news as they shop name comes in both Thai and Chinese, The translation of the Chinese shop name is Delicious Spicy Sour Pork Noodle. I was very lucky to witness how they handmade the meat paste when I was there, they simply scope up a little chunk of meat and slam it onto a clear plastic sheet; hand press it before throw into pot to cook.

I order the bee hoon (rice vermicelli) with soup version to see how good is their bee hoon pair with their signature spicy sour broth. I would that is heavenly pairing, the bee hoon is smooth like silk and you have to dip them well in the broth before you chopstick them up and send it into your hungry mouth. One should slurp up the bee hoon with the broth to enjoy the heaven flavor of spicy sour broth. And the meat ball and meat paste, needless to say more. They are springy, chewy tender soft on bite. Dip it with the spicy sour broth will give you a kick on your taste while enjoying the flavorful tasty meat ball/meat paste. Their huge fried wanton skin is very crispy and it goes very well with the spicy sour broth, each bite of the fried wanton skin with the broth will send you into ecstasy. The egg is pretty normal but that didn’t bother me as the essence of the bowl of spicy sour pork noodle is their soulful spicy sour broth. They are mild sweet, really spicy with a punch and can linger on your taste bud for a while.
