There is this delicious beef noodle in Bangkok become talk of the talk recently, and all thanks to a well established Bangkok magazine did a well cover article and video on this. And I am glad I tried it in 2015 before the write up surface recently, and here is my “story” about them.
During my 2015 trip, I almost exhausted my Bangkok food hunting list, so I asked a friend of mine for some food recommendation for food who worked in Bangkok for few year. And he pointed to this beef noodle shop in Ekkamai. An area with some busting nigh life due to some popular club in the area, and some great furniture and funky shop during day time of Ekkamai. I was there near to evening and nothing much left when I saw their huge pan of broth with nothing left but just broth, plenty of broth. I was skeptical as I don’t see many people inside at 1st, but since I am hungry so might as well eat it to see what my friend recommended does it worth a 2nd visit or not.
The huge pan of broth display prominently at the shop front and it was my 1st time seeing such a big pan of broth, I saw the surrounding of pan full of residue and built up from the spill over of broth or such. And honestly I was pretty taken aback of their hygiene, but I took the chance of stomach upset (I have weak stomach) and just walk in sit down and order my bowl of mixed beef with soup and rice.
On the 1st taste of the broth, I would say the broth is pretty fragrance with the beef taste and on a mild sweet side and flavorful. I would say this heavenly essence of broth is where it will fuse with all beef part to achieve the fantastic flavor. The beef ball, beef stew, tendon and such are very tender, springy, chewy, soft and this result was achieve by immerse into the huge pan of broth for long hour. After my meal I took another close look at the menu and realized they open the restaurant since 1970, and that and those built up and residue surround the huge pan of broth must be that long. The recently surfaced of their video clip confirmed my thought, but need not worry about the hygiene as I suffer no tummy upset. So go head to sample this legendary beef noodle even you have weak stomach like me. Top notch beef noodle no doubt.
