Chiang Mai

Deep yellow meat sweet sweet pineapple (Chiang Mai)

I was supposed to hunt down the legendary aunty who is selling cup jelly in the evening around the particular area in Chiang Mai. And it was understood she start selling only 9pm, and high chance I may miss her as was told by the people around the area she came only once a week. In deed she wasn’t there at 9pm, so I wonder the area and found some pretty good food and 2 street stalls caught my eye.

One of them is the fruit stall. Whenever I see a fruit stall in Thailand, I will always zero in to check is the pineapple meat in deep yellow or bright yellow texture. And turns out this fruit stall selling deep yellow pineapple and without hesitation I bought 2 packets. I had 1 packet of the tall big deep yellow pineapple and another mini pineapple which also come in deep yellow meat.

Both big and mini pineapple is comparably sweet, and the big pineapple is moister on the texture, more juicy and chewy as well. I am also a sucker for pineapple core, because I like the crunchiness this big pineapple which gave me what I want. You can’t compare Thai pineapple core to Singapore’s. Singapore’s pineapple core is not as tasty.

Lastly, don’t forget to eat their papaya too, I bought 1 packet back to hotel and amazed with the firm and sweet bite and not to mentioned is is juicy as well.

So, when you are in Chiang Mai or rather in any part of Thailand, and a pineapple lover like me. Go attack those deep yellow meat pineapple, you won’t go home regret it.
